"Hitched to everything else" draws from Celio’s personal memories which are nested within the national collective memory; consisting of images and colors that reference the 1970’s and 80’s, Celio’s art explores memory, time, and travel, among various other themes. As the hexagon is a shape that references the structure of a hive, or a community, some of these panels are presented as groups, while others operate on their own. In this way, the work explores how personal memory weaves and merges with a collective memory.
